Sofhu supplies Arabic majlis sets to Lithuania by direct order. As the manufacturer, it makes each set in Türkiye to the wall measurements the customer sends, fills the cushions with 32 kg/m³ foam and ships free to Vilnius, Kaunas or any other address. Lithuania has no local stockist, so the steps are simple: measure, choose a fabric and layout, and ask for a quote.

Lithuania is a small market for Arabic furniture, and an old one for the culture behind it. That combination shapes how an Arabic majlis is bought here: there is no shop to walk into, and the people who want one usually know exactly why. Sofhu makes majlis seating in Türkiye, builds each set to the buyer’s room and ships it free to Lithuania.
Two products are on offer. The Arabic majlis is raised to sofa height, built as upholstered units with a solid base, tall fixed backs and arm bolsters. The Arabic floor sofa is low: a seat mattress at floor level with loose back cushions, armrest blocks and usually a matching ottoman.
A small community with a long history
Lithuania has a small indigenous Muslim community, the Lipka Tatars, whose ancestors settled in the country in the 14th and 15th centuries. Historic wooden mosques still stand in villages near Vilnius. Alongside them lives a small modern community of more recent arrivals.
We mention this for context, not to claim a local furniture tradition. Majlis seating comes from the Arabian Peninsula and its neighbours, and the people who order it in Lithuania are mostly families who brought the habit with them, plus buyers who simply like low, generous seating. If you are comparing it with a standard corner sofa, our article on majlis vs sectional sofa sets out the differences.
How ordering works without a local shop
A Sofhu set is not picked from a shelf. It is made after you order, to the lengths you give.
- Measure the walls the seating will run along.
- Send the measurements, a room photo and your colour ideas through get a quote by measurement or WhatsApp.
- Sofhu proposes a layout and fabric. A designer can talk it through on a video call.
- The set is made, vacuum packed and shipped free.
The answers to the usual first questions about washing and customisation are on Sofhu’s common questions page. The majlis sofa set guide shows what a complete set contains.

Which layout for which room
The seating lines the walls, so the walls decide. This table is the short version, and L-shape and U-shape layouts has the detail.
| Layout | Suits | Leaves free |
|---|---|---|
| Single row | A flat’s living room, a study, a child’s room | Three walls |
| L-shape | A corner beside a window | The door side and the centre |
| U-shape | A separate guest room in a house | One wall for the entrance |
In an apartment, the L-shape is usually the best use of a corner that a sofa and armchair would waste. In a detached house with a spare room, a U-shape turns that room into a place for long family evenings. The light grey and navy majlis at the top of this page is laid out that way, around a cream rug.
Ask yourself one more question before choosing: how many guests come at once? Our guide to how many people a majlis seats helps you turn wall lengths into places.
Fabric for cold seasons
Lithuania’s climate is cold, and a seat should feel warm when you sit down. Velvet and chenille do that. Sofhu describes velvet as hard-wearing and easy to clean, and its chenille series as shedding very little. Its suede fabrics are presented as suited to autumn and winter.
Kilim-pattern weaves, used on the floor sofa pictured below and on two more in the gallery, are a good middle course: textured, warm in colour, and forgiving of daily use. They belong to the same family as the Turkish corner seating described on our Turkish sedir page.
All covers have zips and can be removed. Sofhu states they can be machine washed at 30°C, which keeps a pale set realistic through a long winter indoors.

What the foam figure means
Sofhu fills its cushions with 32 DNS polyurethane foam. DNS is trade shorthand for density, so the figure means 32 kg per cubic metre. Denser foam generally keeps its height and support longer than light foam. It does not mean the seat is harder: firmness is set separately, and you can ask for a softer or firmer cushion.
There are no springs in the cushions. For a fuller explanation, read what foam density is best for floor seating.
Delivery, customs and what to ask
Shipping to Lithuania is free. The cushions travel vacuum packed and recover their shape once the bags are opened by hand.
A set sent from Türkiye enters the EU through customs. Duties or taxes may apply depending on the destination, and Sofhu has not published terms for Lithuania. Ask three things with your quote request: how the shipment is declared, whether any charge is collected at the door, and how delivery to your town is arranged. The general rules are summarised in ordering a majlis from Türkiye to the EU.
