Lusail is new. Qatar’s planned city north of Doha, where the 2022 World Cup final was played, is a place of waterfront towers, marina apartments and recently built villa districts. The interiors match: pale stone floors, large windows, restrained colour. A majlis sofa for Lusail has to belong in that kind of room. What a modern majlis looks like
The form stays the same: a seat, a fixed back along the wall and arm bolsters that mark the places. What changes is the surface. A contemporary set drops the heavy fringe and the dense pattern and relies on proportion and one or two materials.

Tower and marina apartments
An apartment living room in Lusail usually has one wall of glass, an open kitchen on another side and two solid walls. The seating goes on the solid walls, because a majlis is planned to line a wall. That normally produces an L shape facing the view.
Three points to check before measuring:
- Skirting-level sockets and floor boxes along the two walls, so they are not buried behind a seat.
- The swing of the balcony door.

New villas: a guest majlis in a modern house
Qatari houses traditionally place the guest majlis by the entrance, and a new villa can keep that plan in a modern shell. A full U shape still suits the room. The question is how formal to make it. A pattern in two quiet tones, such as beige with a charcoal stripe, gives the majlis presence without turning it into a period room.

Lusail has many serviced and short-let apartments, cafés and lounges. Materials and care
The seats are filled with 32 kg/m³ polyurethane foam, called 32 DNS in Türkiye. Density is how much material is in the cushion, and denser foam generally keeps its shape longer than light foam. It is not a measure of hardness, and a softer or firmer seat can be requested. All covers are zippered and removable, and Sofhu states they can be machine washed at 30°C.
Lusail is on the water and the air is humid in summer. Indoor sets live in air-conditioned rooms and need no special treatment. For a balcony or terrace, ask for outdoor fabric, which Sofhu describes as water-resistant, and keep the cushions out of direct weather.

Send the lengths of the walls, photos of the room and a note of the look you want through get a quote by measurement or WhatsApp. Sofhu proposes a layout and fabric and gives a price.
