It would be dishonest to pretend that an Arabic majlis in the Czech Republic is a mass-market item. It is a niche purchase, made by a small number of households and by businesses that want a particular atmosphere. That is exactly the kind of order a made-to-measure manufacturer handles well. Sofhu builds each set in Türkiye for one room or one venue and ships it to Czechia free.
Sofhu makes two distinct products, and a specifier should name the right one. The Arabic majlis, shown in the photographs on this page, is a raised, fully upholstered set at sofa height with a solid base, fixed backs and arm bolsters. The Arabic floor sofa is a low cushion set at floor level with loose back cushions, which is lighter and easier to regroup.
Who actually orders Arabic seating in Czechia
Three kinds of buyer are the likely ones.
Resident families. The Czech Republic has a small Arab and Muslim community, living mostly in Prague and Brno. For these households a majlis is the guest room they grew up with, and the challenge is fitting it into a Central European flat.
Visitors from the Gulf. Spa towns such as Teplice have long drawn patients and summer visitors from the Gulf, Kuwait among them. Long stays create a demand for familiar seating, both in rented flats and in the cafes and restaurants that serve these guests.
Businesses and designers. Shisha lounges, Middle Eastern restaurants, tea rooms and interior designers looking for something a catalogue cannot supply.
The overview of Middle Eastern sofas and floor seating is a useful primer if you are specifying this furniture for the first time, and the Arabic majlis hub explains what a full set contains.
Fitting a majlis into a Czech home
Few Czech homes have a spare room to give over entirely to guests. The practical answer is to treat Arabic seating as one part of the living room, as the cream and gold majlis below does in a window corner.

- A single row along one wall adds a low seating zone without displacing the dining table.
- An L-shape in the corner furthest from the door makes a distinct guest corner.
- A U-shape needs three free walls and suits a dedicated room in a family house.
Arabic floor sofas are not freestanding: their loose backs lean on a wall. A majlis is planned against the walls as well, so radiators, low sills and inward-opening doors decide where a run can go. If you plan to keep your existing sofa, read mixing a majlis with Western furniture. Plain fabrics and tone-on-tone sets tend to sit most comfortably in a contemporary flat. The modern Arabic sofa hub shows those designs.
For winter, which is cold here, velvet and chenille give a warm seat. Covers are zippered and can be removed and washed at 30°C.
Shisha lounges, restaurants and tea rooms
Commercial seating is used harder than anything at home, and three things decide whether it lasts.
| Concern | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| Seats that flatten | 32 kg/m³ foam, which keeps its shape better than light foam |
| Spills and smoke | Removable zippered covers that can be washed |
| Awkward floor plans | Sets cut to measure, in L, U or single runs |
| Booths that must move | Modular pieces that can be regrouped |

Sofhu supplies cafes, shisha cafes, restaurants and hotels, and takes wholesale enquiries from small and large companies. The planning side is covered in our articles on hookah lounge seating layout and floor seating restaurant design. The existing pages on the Arabic majlis for cafes and wholesale sofas from Sofhu show how to enquire, and the wholesale majlis sofas hub sets out what a project order involves.
What 32 DNS foam means
Sofhu’s cushions are filled with 32 DNS polyurethane foam. The figure is density: one cubic metre weighs about 32 kg. Density is the amount of material in the cushion, not how hard it feels. Low-density foam can feel firm when new and still recover less well from daily compression. Denser foam generally holds its height and support longer.
The cushions have no springs, and on a custom order you can ask for a softer or firmer seat. Sofhu does not publish a lifespan in years, and no honest supplier can promise one for a venue without knowing how it will be used.

Arabic sofa set delivery to the Czech Republic
Every order is made in Türkiye and delivered to your address with free shipping. Cushions are vacuum packed to reduce their volume. Open the packs without a blade and let the foam recover.
Production and delivery times are confirmed with each order, not published as a fixed figure. If you are working to an opening date, raise it in the first message. Duties or taxes may apply depending on the destination. The guide to ordering a majlis from Türkiye to the EU explains the official framework.
