Guests at a desert camp or a beach resort want to sit close to the ground, by the fire or facing the water, and they want to be comfortable doing it. A floor lounger for resorts has to deliver that, and it has to be something staff can put out at four in the afternoon and clear by midnight. The Arabic sunbed, new to the Sofhu range, is a folding padded lounger that fits this brief.
Where a folding floor lounger earns its place
Fixed furniture defines a space. Movable furniture lets you sell the same space three ways in one day. That is the commercial case for a folding lounger.
- Desert camps. Sunset seating on rugs in the dunes, set up before the guests arrive by 4×4 and packed away after dinner.
- Glamping sites. A lounger outside each tent, or a shared fire circle, without building decks or benches.
- Beach clubs and resort lawns. Low seating under umbrellas for guests who want something softer and more local in character than a plastic sunlounger.
- Hotel terraces and gardens. An evening tea or shisha corner laid out on rugs, then cleared for breakfast service.
- Events. Outdoor Ramadan evenings, weddings and corporate retreats that need seating for one night.
What the Arabic sunbed is
It is one seat for one guest. Three padded panels are covered in patterned fabric. Two lie on the ground as seat and leg rest. The third is the backrest, propped from behind on a black metal frame that folds out. Fold the frame in and the sunbed lies flat as a mat.

For an operator, the frame is the important part. The backrest supports itself, so the lounger can stand in open sand, in the middle of a lawn or on a deck with nothing behind it. A cushion floor sofa cannot do that; it needs a wall or a rail. The Arabic sunbed page describes the product in full.
It comes in two photographed colourways: maroon with navy diamond medallions, and beige with bands of star motifs. A matching armrest block is shown with each, and the sunbed is shown with a carry bag.
Laying out a guest area
The photos of the pair in the desert are a ready-made template for a two-guest setup: one large flat rug, two sunbeds, one low table with coffee and dates between them, the fire a few steps away.

Scale it by repeating the unit. Some points from the photos carry over to any site:
- A rug under every group. It marks the area, keeps sand and grass off the fabric and gives guests a place to leave shoes.
- Seats facing each other for conversation, side by side for a view. Decide which you are selling: the sunset or the company.
- One armrest block per seat. Guests use it as an elbow rest or a back cushion.
- Mix the colourways. Maroon and beige share navy and burgundy in their patterns, so alternating them looks intended and helps staff count units.
- Keep open flame at a distance. No flame-resistance information is published for the fabric.
Using it alongside fixed seating
A lounger is not a dining seat and not a reception sofa. Most properties will use it as one layer of an outdoor scheme.
For the tent interior or a permanent lounge, the right products are different. An Arabic majlis gives raised, structured seating for a reception tent or lobby. Wooden bench sets from the outdoor majlis range suit a terrace that stays furnished all season. Sofhu’s guide to majlis seating for glamping and desert camps covers platforms, backrests and covers for guest tents. The sunbeds then handle the movable part: the fire circle, the beach, the lawn.
What to confirm before a volume order
The sunbed is a new product and its technical sheet is not yet public. A hospitality buyer should get the following in writing with the quote, and should not assume any of it:
| Question | Why it matters to an operator |
|---|---|
| Open and folded dimensions, weight | Storage, transport, staff handling |
| Load the frame is built for | Guest safety |
| Padding type and firmness | Comfort and how it wears with daily use |
| Fabric composition and cleaning method | Housekeeping between guests |
| Behaviour in sun, damp and near water | Where on the property it can be used |
| Fire-safety compliance for your country | Licensing and insurance |
| Whether armrest and bag come with each unit | Budget per seat |
Order a sample pair first if your timeline allows. A week of real use on your own site tells you more than any sheet.

Daily handling for staff
Plan the routine before the loungers arrive. Decide where they are stored dry, who carries them out, and who checks each frame when it is opened. Brush sand out of the hinge lines between the panels before folding. Keep a few spare units so one can be taken out of service for cleaning without leaving a gap in the layout.
How wholesale ordering works
Sofhu is the manufacturer and takes wholesale enquiries from small and large companies, with special pricing for high-volume orders. Start on the wholesale majlis sofas page or send your enquiry through get a quote or WhatsApp. Include:
- Number of sunbeds, and the split between maroon and beige
- Type of venue and where on the property they will be used
- Delivery country and city
- Any standard or policy the product has to meet
- The date you need them on site
Shipping is free worldwide. Import duty and taxes depend on the destination, so raise that in the same message. Sofhu confirms production and delivery timing on the quote.
If the loungers are for a family trip instead of a property, the guides to a desert keshta and to beach days and picnics are the ones to read.
